Workday Candidate Profile: All You Need To Know as a Job Seeker

Workday Candidate Profile enables you to save your information once and reuse it every time you apply for a job at any of the thousands of companies that use Workday to hire. This way you can apply faster without creating a new account or retyping your work history for every company.

Applying for a job shouldn't feel harder than finding the job itself. But too often, applying means creating another account, remembering another password, and retyping the same work history you've already typed into a resume or a past application.

Workday Candidate Profile Basics

Workday Candidate Profile is Workday's first step towards helping candidates to save time applying for jobs. Enter your information once and use it to speed up applications to any organizations that use a Workday career site, while each employer still runs its own hiring process.

The next time you apply for a job through a Workday-powered career site, use Workday Candidate Profile, the tool that guards your personal information with a passwordless email sign-in (using a one-time verification code). Your profile is separate from any single employer's system—you own it and manage it directly.

A few quick details to keep in mind before you get started:

  • It's not a shared database employers can browse. Companies have no access to your Workday Candidate Profile. They'll only see the data that you choose to submit to them in an application to them through their career site.
  • It doesn't pull data from an employer's records. Your profile is built entirely from what you enter yourself.
  • It doesn't replace an employer's existing apply or sign-in options. You can always select another way to sign in or apply if you'd rather.
  • It doesn't change how a specific employer's application works. Their application questions, steps, and hiring process stay exactly the same.
  • It doesn't score, rank, or evaluate you or your qualifications. Workday Candidate Profile doesn't decide who gets hired, and it doesn't rank, recommend, or reject anyone. Hiring and recruiting decisions are made entirely by the employer, not by Workday Candidate Profile.

We're targeting these release timelines:

  • Early 2027: Workday Candidate Profile is rolling out gradually across Workday-powered career sites, starting in early 2027. You don't need to do anything to prepare. If you see the Continue with Workday Candidate Profile option display on a participating employer's career sites, select it to get started.
  • Q1 2027: We're targeting the first months of 2027 to officially launch WorkdayCandidateProfile.com, for you to create your own profile.

Signing In & Applying on a Career Site

There are 2 ways:

  • On a participating Workday-powered career site's Sign-In or Apply page, look for the Continue with Candidate Profile button. After entering your email address, Workday sends you a 6-digit verification code. Enter the code to sign in—no password to create or remember.
  • Starting 2027, you can create and access your profile directly at WorkdayCandidateProfile.com, though that route requires setting up a password and an extra security step (see Managing Your Full Account, below).

No. It's one option among several that can be configured by employers and is never required to successfully submit a job application.

If you haven't signed in with a certain email address before, using Workday Candidate Profile on a career site sets up 2 things behind the scenes:

  • Your Workday Candidate Profile: the reusable, portable profile you own and manage.
  • A Candidate Home Account with that specific employer: works exactly like it always has if you've signed in with an email or used a third-party option to authenticate onto a Workday-powered career site before.

Creating a Workday Candidate Profile doesn't impact an employer's own application process or your relationship with them.

We recommend using your personal email address for your Workday Candidate Profile, as employers will use this email to create your Candidate Home Account when you apply.

No. Signing in and applying with Workday Candidate Profile on a career site only requires the one-time email code.

If you select to create and manage your Workday Candidate Profile at WorkdayCandidateProfile.com (coming soon) you'll be asked to set up a password and a second authentication factor for your security.

No. Workday Candidate Profile autofills basic fields to save you time, but at every step of a specific application you can override any autofilled field. And, if configured by the employer, upload a resume tailored to that specific role before you submit.

Not in the current release. Workday Candidate Profile centralizes your reusable profile data, but there isn't yet a single dashboard listing every application you've submitted across employers.

Not entirely. Think of it as a head start, not a full autofill. Workday Candidate Profile only saves information that's reusable across any job you apply to: things like your contact details, work history, education, skills, and links.

Workday Candidate Profile doesn't save your answers to customer questions that are specific to one employer or one job. Those answers stay with that specific application, since they wouldn't make sense to reuse anywhere else. While applying, you can answer anything specific to that particular job or employer yourself.

Not in the current release. There's no unified applications view yet. Each employer's career site remains the place to check the status of the application you submitted there.

First-Time Setup & Autofill

Resume upload shows up as a step only if two things are true: the employer’s application process is configured to include it and there’s no existing profile information available to autofill your application instead.

That second condition covers 3 situations:

  • You’re brand new to Workday Candidate Profile and haven’t saved anything yet.
  • You’ve used it before but have never chosen to save your application data to your profile.
  • You’ve turned off autofill in your account settings.

In any of those cases, uploading a resume lets Workday parse it to fill in that application on the spot and, if you choose to save it, your profile too. Otherwise, if you've already saved profile information and autofill is turned on, your application autofills directly from your Workday Candidate Profile.

If a specific employer's application still asks for a resume upload, you might still be prompted to attach one for that job, even though your other information is already autofilled.

Only future ones. Editing or saving new information updates your profile and overwrites what was there before. It never reaches back into an application that you've already submitted to an employer.

There are 2 ways:

  • The easiest is to just keep applying. Checking the save-to-profile check box on any new application automatically updates it.
  • If you'd rather edit it directly without applying anywhere, go to WorkdayCandidateProfile.com (coming soon) and sign in (this requires the one-time password and an extra security setup described above). Then, go to My Profile.

Not in the current release. Workday Candidate Profile holds one reusable set of structured career data (contact info, job history, education, skills, certifications, and links) rather than multiple resume personas or templates (example: research-focused vs. engineering-focused). You can still tailor any individual application. Workday Candidate Profile doesn't store your resume.

Security and Privacy

Your Workday Candidate Profile runs on the same security standards used across Workday's products: your data is encrypted both at rest and while it's moving between systems (using industry-standard AES-256 encryption and TLS), and sign in to WorkdayCandidateProfile.com (coming soon) is protected by the password and extra security step you set up, plus self-service account recovery.

This setting is located under Data and Privacy when logged in at WorkdayCandidateProfile.com (coming soon). Turning it off stops your saved profile information from autofilling new applications; turning it on reenables autofill on the applications where you select the option to Continue with Candidate Profile.

Go to WorkdayCandidateProfile.com (coming soon) > gear icon > Data and Privacy > Access my personal data > Initiate Download. You'll be notified by email when your data is ready to be downloaded.

You can easily delete your account anytime under Data and Privacy → Delete my account. Account deletion is completely permanent and can't be undone. You won't need to contact support or keep checking back, as we’ll send progress updates straight to your inbox until the process is finished.
