Financial Accounting Reports

Workday Solutions Enablement develops financial accounting reports to help our Financial Management customers manage their operations. These reports are available in the RPT Financial Accounting Configuration Catalog package on Customer Central. For instructions on loading this content, see Migrating Packages to Tenants and review the additional content at the bottom of this page.

All consolidation reports abide by WDSetup standards. We build these reports using the Workday Report Writer, which in turn you can further detail out by customers to meet their business requirements.

We communicate Financial Accounting reports outside of custom dashboards on this page.

Journal Lines by Allocation: This indexed matrix report summarizes the number of journal lines and the translated debit and credit amounts generated by allocation definition and by company. This Journal Lines by Allocation report enables you to verify that each allocation result is within the performance guideline of 50K lines per allocation. It's meant to be run as you notice any performance issues with finalizing allocations to confirm if you're meeting those guidelines or to identify any allocations producing the highest number of journal lines. Consider splitting those allocation definitions creating more than 50K lines. Last Updated 6/25/2021.

The output can then be input in as a reversing reclass journal each month based off of those amounts and the worktags present on the transaction. You can add and remove worktags or details as needed. Last Updated 3/8/2021.

Operational Journal Posting Rule: Report for operational journals based on the Journal Lines object that returns the Account Posting Rule used to derive Ledger Account. Last Updated 3/8/2021.

Short-Term Vs Long-Term Deferred Revenue: The Long-Term vs Short-Term Revenue report can be used as a way to determine what the split between short-term and long-term deferred/accrued revenue is based on date prompts. Transaction Matching Open Item Balance: The Transaction Matching Open Item Balance report returns 1 row per ledger account with an open balance based on if there are items that aren’t marked as unavailable or matched as of the date prompt. If the line is matched after that prompted date, the report will still return a line for that instance, but will display the Transaction Matching details. If the line is unavailable regardless of prompted date, it doesn't display on the report output. This report can help coordinate reviewing the open items and balances that remain and need to be either matched or marked as unavailable for a company and ledger account. Last Updated 3/8/2021.

Transaction Matching - Open Item Balance Review Composite: Run the Transaction Matching - Open Item Balance Review Composite report as part of the transaction matching process and reconciliation. It displays the unmatched values as of the date selected, and compare it to the ledger balance to determine the difference between the 2. The data is summarized at the company, book code, and ledger account level. Last Updated 7/14/2021.

  • Note: The data summarized for the Unmatched column doesn't include any Beginning Balance journals, it only includes unmatched activity that is before the As Of date. The Ledger Balance displays Beginning Balance journals based on the time period and period selected. To ensure that the 2 columns are aligned, use the last day of the prompted period for the As Of Date prompt.

Transaction Matching Open Item Reconciliation: The Transaction Matching Open Item Reconciliation report returns 1 row per line that isn’t marked as unavailable or matched as of the date prompt. If the line is matched after that prompted date, the report will still return a line for that instance, but will display the Transaction Matching details. If the line is unavailable regardless of prompted date, it doesn't display on the report output. This report can help coordinate the reconciliation process as it relates to reviewing the open items that remain and need to be either matched or marked as unavailable. Last Updated 3/8/2021.

Trial Balance - Alternate Account Set: This version of the Trial Balance is to be used for companies with an Alternate Account Set. If the company doesn't have an alternate account set, then the amounts return for a blank ledger account. We recommend that you ensure that there are no exceptions to the alternate account set mapping or journals in error due to a missing mapping before running this report. This report and the sub report can be updated to coordinate drilldown or detail needs. Translations can be used within the report's definition to update the naming of the fields. Last Updated 9/7/2021.
