9-80 Schedules

In some industries, hourly workers are offered flexible work schedules so that they can have a three-day weekend, every other week. This Next Level focuses on using Work Schedules, Day Breakers, and corresponding FLSA Calendars, so we can set up a 9-80 Schedule so that Overtime Hours calculates correctly.

Current Limitation: Note that this doesn’t work well when using time offs as well as time tracking. Time offs aren’t yet configured to respect day breakers. Therefore, time off hours, when evaluated as part of time tracking calculations, are pushed into the next day or work week. The hours are pushed for the purpose of evaluating overtime calculations and hours for the work week as totaled on the time entry template. This continues to be an issue with Review Time reports.

The same issue occurs with holidays causing scheduled hours to be picked up as holiday time worked when because holidays don’t respect day breakers. Only way we've found to address the holiday is to ensure 9/80s have their own holiday time worked calculation evaluated on calendar day rather than shift/calculated day. The lack of functionality support for 9/80 schedules is extremely time consuming and confusing for supervisors and end users. Therefore, we’re implementing an entire new set of calculations, now that we've identified a better approach for our populations and a way to effective-date the new solution.
