Day 0-7

Complete the Welcome to Workday Learning Video Series: This series walks you through Workday Support resources, key roles to set up at your organization, and the Workday Community to make sure you're quickly set up for success.

Understand Tenant Information: A tenant is a unique instance of the Workday Service with a separate set of data held by Workday in a logically separated database (a database segregated through password-controlled access). Each tenant has a unique URL.

Learn About Workday Roles Within Your Organization: At this point in your Workday journey, there are 3 key roles:

  1. Workday Community Administrator: Manages access to the Workday Community in your organization.
  2. Named Support Contact Admin (NSCA): Submits and manages cases as one of your organization’s primary points of contact for Workday Support.
  3. Training Coordinator: Assigns training to your team. Visit the Training Coordinator Hub to familiarize yourself with the role.

Day 8-14

Learn How to Create a Support Case as a Named Support Contact: Collaborative Incident Management begins with our Named Support Contacts (NSCs). NSCs are the authorized, designated contact to communicate with Support. Learn how to create a Support case to ensure a timely resolution.

Visit the Named Support Contact Private User Group: NSCs automatically get access to a private User Group created for Workday Support to communicate news and information that is most pertinent to our NSCs. This is a place where you can collaborate and share ideas with one another.

Learn How to Manage Training Coordinators: NSCAs can manage and add Training Coordinators for your organization. To assign this role, visit the item to learn how to manage and add users.

Update Your Profile and Account Details: To get the most out of your Workday Community experience, we recommend that you review your Workday Community profile settings.

Learn About the Workday Community Home Page: The home page experience is curated based on your role, access, and content permissions. This ensures that you see relevant content, such as recommended articles, training administration, success plans, upcoming events, and the latest collaboration activity.

Learn How to Navigate the Workday Community: The Workday Community navigation anticipates your needs and the way that you work. The common navigation merges menus, streamlines way finding, and creates a more intuitive experience for you to explore your Workday ecosystem.

Day 15-45

Learn About Discussion Forums in the Workday Community
Under the Collaborate section of the Workday Community, you can find a category called Discuss. On Discuss, you can see a list of Forums for each of our most discussed products. This enables you to learn the pros and cons of features, share your expertise, collaborate, and connect with other Workday Community members. Once you're ready to dive into the conversation, you can select the forum that you’d like to post in.

Learn How Features Are Delivered
At Workday, our goal is to deliver functionality at a rapid pace to provide you with the functionality and enhancements you need. We also want to be mindful of your busy schedules and mission-critical business processes. We deliver product features and services as either weekly service updates with nonimpactful changes or biannual releases with new features and functionality.

Assign a Security Lead For Your Organization
A Security Lead (SL) is a primary point of contact for security communications between Workday and your organization. An SL understands your organization’s business requirements around security.
