Learn About Discussion Forums in the Workday Community

Overview

Workday Community has dedicated discussion boards for each of our most popular products. This means you can take your conversations beyond just question and answer, and engage more deeply with your peers and Workday around what interests you most.

About Discussion Forums

You can find Discussion Forums by navigating to Resources > By Community Members > Product Discussions. Here, you can see a list of what we call Forums for each of our most discussed products. This space enables you to learn pros and cons of one feature compared to another, share your expertise and some of your own tried and true tips for new Workday users, and collaborate, share, and connect with other Workday Community members. Once you’re ready to dive into the conversation, you can select the forum which you’d like to post in, then select the Start a Conversation button to use these features:

  • The Subject bar has predictive suggestions. If you start to ask a question that’s similar to an existing post, a drop down will appear where you can select that post first if you’d like. This avoids duplicate posts, and you might even get your answer faster!
  • You can customize your message in the body submission box with the usual functionality: altering text, inserting bullets, adding emojis, and including links. You can also upload images and videos to help others understand your question more clearly.
  • You can use the Using Workday tagging system that will enable you to select your desired tag. The tag might not be product-specific. It will allow users to see your post, along with any other content with the same tag, across the Collaborate section.
  • As of September 21, 2023, the product area field is required for all Discussion Forum posts. For existing posts without a product area, if someone chooses to edit the post, they won't be able to save the changes until a product area is added.
  • We also have labels available to help you get more granular with the product area. This also helps others more easily identify if they can address your questions.
