On the Workday Community, we aim to:

• Ensure that information is kept up to date.
• Remove content that is no longer being maintained.
• Help Workday Community users more easily find accurate information. 

All Workday-provided content has an automatic retirement setting in the content life cycle. However, the retirement date on all content types except Calendar Events is automatically extended when content is updated and republished:

• When a page is first published, it remains active for 1 year from that 1st publication date.
• If an update to that content gets published, the retirement date is reset to 1 year from the date it is published.

Calendar events will automatically retire 1 year from the start date of the event.

This process ensures that information is being reviewed and kept up to date. Requiring periodic updates to keep content active alleviates manual clean up of forgotten pages or outdated content and filters out content that is no longer being maintained.

This results in Workday Community users being able to more easily find accurate information and focus on content that matters.
