Data Purge Framework Overview
In this Next Level, we review the definition of purge as well as different ways that data can be purged. We also provide information on validating and troubleshooting a purge process as well as some special guidance for using the purge process in Recruiting. Finally, we review key considerations when using the purge process.
There are many use cases for the purge process including the following:
- Purge all Personally Identifiable Information (PII) for Terminees at defined intervals after termination.
- Purge all Personally Identifiable Information (PII) for Candidates after applying for a job.
- Purge Performance Reviews completed for a date range for Active Workers.

- As a reminder, purge plans are for use with the Mass Operation Management framework which only works with Worker data.
- Workday doesn't support purge plans for purging recruiting candidates.
- To purge Candidate data, use the single instance or the Purge Person Data task.
