Adaptive Planning Administrator Training Kit
The Adaptive Planning Administrator Training Kit subscription provides on-demand access to expert-led courses and hands-on practice—enabling teams to confidently configure, optimize, and enhance their planning capabilities.
The Adaptive Planning Administrator Training Kit subscription library contains self-paced courses that Adaptive Planning administrators can access anytime for product training. Courses include videos and how-to demonstrations. Many courses also include a training tenant to practice topics in a guided format.
Workday Adaptive Planning administrators are defined as users who:
- Have access to model management, including creation and maintenance of the model structure.
- Have access to administration, including creation and maintenance of users and security architecture.
- Create and maintain sheets and shared formulas.
Courses
To view Adaptive Planning Administrator Training Kit courses in the Workday Learning Center, a Training Coordinator must first assign the individual/themselves access to the library. Learn more on the How-To: Manage Subscription Access page.
The most common starting point for any Adaptive Planning administrator is to complete Introduction to Modeling and Operational Modeling.
- Adaptive Planning: Introduction to Modeling*: Recommended prerequisite for most courses. Introduces the key strategies, decision points, and best practices to help you design and build an optimal foundation for your model.
- Adaptive Planning: Operational Modeling*: Highlights the process steps needed to complete a plan using a prebuilt model with an existing structure and sheets.
- Adaptive Planning: Use Modeling Design Decisions to Adapt and Collaborate*: Learn advanced concepts to help you adapt and evolve your model. Includes scenario-based modeling decisions, sheet selection and design, security, formulas, and using collaboration to help your users move from being limited participants to active contributors of Workday Adaptive Planning.
- Adaptive Planning: Build a Model: Apply what you've learned in our other courses, or through your own practical experience, and build a model from the bottom up. Delve into advanced model design, deconstruct complex models, and build planning solutions that drive superior business outcomes. Create sheets with minimal guidance, connect the data using formulas and link accounts, and report on and analyze the data via web reports and dashboards.

Access
Managing Learner Access
Training Coordinators manage the subscription and learner access from the Workday Community. Training Coordinators can find instructions on how to manage learners on the How-To: Manage Subscription Access page.
Accessing Training as a Learner
Once the Training Coordinator has assigned the learner access to the Adaptive Planning Administrator Training Kit, the learner will receive an email confirming their access. It can take up to 24 hours for a newly assigned learner to have access to Workday Adaptive Planning courses in the Workday Learning Center. If you're a learner and unsure if you have access, contact your Training Coordinator.
Find training from the Workday Learning Center:
- From the Explore the Learning Catalog section, select Browse Learning.
- Using the filter on the left of the page, filter the Topic by Planning Subscription.
From this page, you'll be able to review all available courses within the Adaptive Planning Administrator Training Kit subscription library. You'll only be able to view this content if your Training Coordinator enrolls you in the subscription library.
You can continue to enroll in a course from this filtered view by following these steps:
- Select a course.
- From the course page, select Enroll.
- Select Done to confirm.
Once enrolled, you can view the course in the Not Started section of your Learning Transcript.
Validate Your Knowledge with Workday Pro
Workday Pro is a certification program designed for professionals to build and validate expertise in Workday. Workday Pro Adaptive Planning is for individuals who are responsible for building and maintaining planning models using the Workday Adaptive Planning application. A Workday Adaptive Planning Pro develops expert-level knowledge in various areas.
