Preparing for Instructor-Led Training
Now that you’ve enrolled in instructor-led training, it’s time to set yourself up for success. Learn what you need to do to prepare for your course.

- Enrollment confirmation (shortly after you enroll)
- Calendar invites (shortly after you enroll)
- Class reminder (approximately 1 week before the class starts)
- Course manual eBook (within 24 hours before the class starts)
- Training tenant information (at least 1 day before the class starts)
- (Instructor-led virtual courses only) Your training tenant info email also contains Zoom links
Before your class starts, make sure you:
- Access your course manual eBook through VitalSource.
- Accept calendar invites or block your calendar to minimize disruptions during class sessions.
- Complete any preclass homework, including accessing or downloading course files (if applicable).
Missing Pre-class Emails? If you haven't received an email from Workday Education (edu.operations@workday.com or do-not-reply@workday.com) within 24 hours before the start of class, check your spam folder. You can also check your Notifications (bell icon) within Workday. If you still don’t have an email, work with your Training Coordinator to submit a training case. You might need to confirm that your IT organization has specific email addresses allowlisted.

What to Expect in Class
Class Structure
Each day will consist of a mix of lectures, demonstrations, activities, and collaboration with other learners. Plan to arrive on time, be present, and participate for the entire session. There will be breaks each day. Class end times vary. Your instructor will review the agenda and anticipated daily course durations at the start of class.
Training Tenants
You get access to your own training tenant, which becomes available 24 hours a day for the full duration of the course. Your instructor provides the username and password when the course starts.
Attendance
We expect 100 percent attendance. This includes being present in class for the full day, and showing up to class and returning from breaks on time. If you can't attend a class after enrolling, follow the instructions to drop the class.
What to Expect in a Virtual Class
Attend Class on Zoom
Virtual classes are hosted on Zoom. You receive an email with a Zoom within 24 hours before the 1st day of class. We recommend that you test your Zoom connection and ensure you have a working camera before the class starts. For optimal engagement, students are requested to keep their cameras on during instructional periods. You can also review the Getting Started with Zoom Meetings page to learn the basics.
Set Up for Success
We recommend using multiple monitors or a secondary device so you can easily navigate between the Zoom, eBook, and training tenant. Plan ahead to ensure you have a quiet workspace. As noted in our training policies, only the enrolled learner might access course content, including watching the course or access the training tenant or ebook. Review other training system requirements before the course starts.
